So in theory, all this stuff is great. But in practice, it falls apart at so many places along the way. The early stages of Lost Shores were abuzz with conversation on the chat channels about how the whole event was buggy. In at least one case, the conversation was right. One of the locations at the scavenger hunt wasn't spawning a necessary character, which went unfixed for far too long given the limited time frame of the event. Never forget?

I'm pretty sure this wasn't the case. The scavenger hunt required going through specific steps in a specific order, but given that this was an MMO full of people running pell-mall from point to point, many of them simply following each other without paying attention to the whys and wherefores, it was easy for players to miss the fact that they needed to read their in-game email, or the descriptions on inventory items, or even listen to dialog.
